current Ether Weight (Wt) and maximum Ether Weight (Wt) capacity are shown above the Ether List. You cannot use an
Ether ability unless you set it, and you cannot exceed the 12 Ether Weight points.
USE E.PTS
Here, you can evolve your Ether by distributing Ether Points (E.Pts). You can also transfer Ether to another character.
The amount of Ether Points (E.Pts) you have available is displayed above the Ether List.
How to Use Ether
First, select a characters whose ether you wish to adjust. To learn a new Ether, you must evolve an old Ether into a new

the more points it takes to evolve it.
Open the E.Pts Menu and select an Ether you wish to evolve. Once you have an Ether selcted, you can chose to evolve
it into a new Ether or transfer the Ether to another character.
To evolve an Ether, select the Evolve option and choose a new Ether for it to evolve into. In some cases, an Ether can be evolved

Tech Attacks
Your characters will learn new attacks called Tech Attacks as they increase in level. Here, you can set your
Tech Attacks and upgrade them by distributing Tech Points (T.Pts) you earn in battle. In order to use Tech Attacks
during combat, you will need to have set them in this menu beforehand. You will not be able to use Tech Attacks that
have not been set.
All Tech Attack begin at Low (LW) speed. Thus, they can only be set to a LW slot such as Triangle, Triangle or
Triangle, Square. In battle, you will need 6 AP (Attack Points) in order to launch a low-speed Tech Attack, s AP for each normal
attack, and another 2 AP to launch the final Tech Attack. Once you have upgraded a Tech Attack’s speed to High
(HI), it can be set to a HI slot. In battle, you will only need 4 AP to execute a high speed Tech Attack. High-speed Tech
Attacks can still be set to a LW slot. For more information on how Tech Attacks are used in battle, see section 2.3.
Note: There are short-range and long-range Tech Attacks. Short-range Tech Attacks can only be set to a slot
containing a Square attack and long-range Tech Attacks can only be set to a slot containing only triangle attacks. Jr. is
the only exception to this rule, as all his attacks are long-range.

Skill to be extracted from it. Each Skill has a Skill Level (S.Lv) requirement in order to be extracted. If your
character’s Skill Level (S.Lv) is not high enough, he or she will not be able to extract that skill. You can
increase a character’s Skill Level by extracting lower level skills and working your way up to higher level
ones. Extracting a Skill also requires a certain amount of Skill Points (S.Pts), which are awarded after battles.
Once you have extracted a Skill, you can set that Skill to your character.

You can extract Skills from accessories by expending Skill Points (S.Pts). Select an accessory on the list from

avoiding battle entirely. Once you come into contact with an enemy, the Battle Screen will appear.
Battle Screen
The Battle Screen provides a great deal of important information vital to the success of the battle. The effects of the
Event Slot especially affect your advantages and disadvantages in battle, so be sure to pay attention to the current
state of the Event Slot. The Battle Screen is the same for both Character Battles and A.G.W.S. Battles.
1 Turn
A blue frame will blink slowly, highlighting the character currently in action.
2 HP
Hit Points. The character will be unable to fight if this number reaches 0. When aboard an A.G.W.S. the A.G.W.S' Frame
Hit Points will be displayed instead.
3 EP
Ether Power. When this number reaches 0, you will no longer be able to use Ether or Weapons that require EP to operate.
4 AP
Action Points. Every action a character takes in battle requires (see the Battle Basics section).
5 BG
Boost Guage. The guage will fill as you use normal attacks and Tech Attacks, and when the gauge reaches 1 or more, you will
be able to do a Boost.

using either the left analog stick of the directional buttons left and right.

When a Boost is possible, pressing either the R1 or the R2 button will display the characters that can be boosted.
9 EVENT SLOT
This displays the situational effect on the character’s actions. The Event Slot starts on a random effect when the
battle begins.
10 GTW (GROUP TURN WINDOW)
Displays the turn order of your party and the enemy for that round. The characters that get to act during that round are
displayed in order from left and right.
Battle Basics
Battles are built around the basic system described below. There are some aspects of combat that can be manipulated to your
advantage, so make sure yo understand how everything works.
AP (ACTIONS POINTS) and Actions
During combat, all actions require AP (Action Points). Each action has a set number of points assigned to it and taking
that action will reduce your AP by that amount. If the amount of AP you posses does not satisfy the required number
of points, you will not be able to take that actions. AP will recover by 4 points at the beginning of the character’s
turn. If any AP is left when a character’s turn is over, the remaining AP will carry over to the character’s next turn.
Normal Attacks
By pressing the Square button or the Triangle button, you will be able to perform a Normal Attack. Each Normal Attack costs
2 AP. For example, if you have 4 Points of AP, you will be able to perform a maximum of 2 Normal Attacks in a row. In
general, the Square button is for short-range Physical-type attacks and the Triangle button is for long-range Ether-type
attacks.
Tech Attacks
Tech Attack can be performed by first priming the Tech Atttack with Normal Attacks. Tech Attacks that have not been
upgraded can only be used after two Normal Attacks. The Tech Attack itself costs 2 AP, so you will have to have 6 points
of AP total in order to launch a Tech Attack 2AP for each of the two Normal Attacks, and 2 AP for the Tech Attack. Therefore,
please remember that you will need to carry over 2 or more points of AP from your previous turn in order to use a Tech Attack.
To Launch a TGech Attack
1. Press the Square button or the Triangle Button to launch the first Normal Attack.
2. Press the Square button or the Triangle Button again to launch the second Normal Attack.
3. Press the Circle button to launch the final Tech Attack.
If you spend Tech Points (T.Pts) to upgrade the speed of your Tech Attack, you will be able to use that Tech Attach
after only one Normal Attack. Just press either the Square button or the Triangle button, and then press the circle
button. Since this only requires 4 AP total, you can launch a Tech Attack every turn! If you would like to check
or change the Tech Attack commands, please go to the Tech Attack Menu. Remember, a Tech Attack must be set to a slot in
the Set Menu in order to be available for use in position.
Differences in Effect Due to Position
If you sue the Move command in the Battle Meny, you will be able to change a character’s position during battle.
In the vanguard, a character will be able to use all of his or her combat commands, but in the rearguard, he or she will
only he able to use the Battle Menu commands. However, being in the rearguard has the advantage of receiving less damage
from enemy attacks.
Aboard an A.G.W.S.
An A.G.W.S. (Anti-Gnosis Weapon System) is a combat machine that can be used in battle. Normally, you would control a character
on foor and fight enemy, but if you select the A.G.W.S. command from the Battle Menu, you will be able to pilot an A.G.W.S.
However there are some characters that cannot pilot an A.G.W.S.
Sub-Weapon
This is a technique available only to the characters that cannot pilot an A.G.W.S. It requires 6 points of AP to
activate. Once you have accumalated 6 AP, you will be able to select the Circle button from your first set of attack
options to activate this technique. Note that there is a limit to the numbner of times that you can use this attack, and
once you have reached that number, you will not be able to use this attack untill the next battle.
Defense
Whenever a character in your party is attacked by an enemy, there is a chance that the character will successfully
defend against the attack. If you select the Guard command from the Battle Menu (this takes up 2 points of AP), then
the chance to successfully defend agains an enemy attack is significantly increased. Defending an attack will reduce the
amount of damage taken.
Escape
There us no Escape command in Xenosaga Episode 1. If you wish to run from the enemy, you must use either the item
Escape Pack or the Ether Goodbye. (There are some battles you will not be able escape from).
Status Effects
Sometimes, a character’s or A.G.W.S’ status may change by receiving damage from a specific attack or Ether,
Though the icon displayed on the screen may be the same, the details of the status may be different, so please make sure yo look
through the list below.

With the exception of a couple commands, a character’s actions are affected by a situational effect as determined
by the sevent slot. There are dour kinds of situational effects, as listed below, and they will change in the order that
is indicated every time a character’s turn ends, wheterh that character is friend of foe. The starting effect is
determined randomly at the beginning of the battle. The exception to this is when you attack an enemy while it is being
affected by an explosive cannister.

Boost
Boosting means moving a character who is not currently displayed in the GTW (Group Turn Window), and who also has a Boost
of 1 or more, next into line to take action. After the character that is currently in action finishes his or her turn, it will then
be the boosted character’s turn. You can Boost one of your characters during an enemy’s turn as well as during

activated at the same time, Counter Boost will have priority.

Poker
Select Poker with the left analog stick or the directional buttons and press the circle button. A pop-up menu will give you
the choice of what level you want to play.
Level 1 - 5 Coins per round
Level 2 - 15 Coins per round
Level 3 - 30 Coins per round
Level 4 - 100 Coins per round
Make a selection with the left analog stick or the directional buttons up and down, and press circle to start. You will
be prompted with the question if you want to play for a certain amount. Choose Yes and press the circle button to start play.
How to Play Poker
Each round you are given 5 cards. Use the left analog stick or the directional buttons left and right to select each card.
You must then choose which cards to hold and which to draw. By default they are all set to Draw, so move the selection to
the cards you want to hold, and press the Circle button to toggle the draw / hold selection. When you are sure about your
selections, press down on the left analog stick or the directional buttons to select the bottom Draw option. Press the
circle button to confirm and you will now draw new cards and hold the ones you selected. Then the bank will automatically
give you your score. Your score is calculated as follows:
One Pair - Wager x 1: One pair of identical cards (in number only) like two 4s, or two Jokers.
Two Pairs - Wager x 2: Two pairs of identical cards (in number only) like a set of two 4s and two Jokers.
Three of a Kind - Wager x 3: Three identical cards (in number only) like three 4s, or three Jokers.
Straight - Wager x 5: Any combination of five cards in a row according to number, like 1-2-3-4-5, or 8-9-10-Joker-Queen.
Flush - Wager x 7: Have 5 cards of the same suit (clubs, clovers, hearts or diamonds), regardles of number,
Full House - Wager x 10: A combination of a Three of a Kind and a Pair, like three sevens and two fives.
Four of a Kind - Wager x 20: Four identical cards (in number only), like four twos or four Kings.
Straight Flush - Wager x 50: Combination of a straight and a flush. Five cards in numerical sequence of the same suit.
Royal Flush - Wager x 100: Have King, Queen, Joker, 10 and 9 of the same suit.
If you get any score, you will be asked if you want to do double-or-nothing. Make a selection with the
left analog stick or the directional buttons up and down, then confirm the selection with the circle button. If you select
Yes, you will be given one card, and three options.: Hi - Low - Stop. You must determine whether the next card drawn is
higher in number than the first card. The cards range from 1 to 10, and then go on to Joker, Queen and King. Select HI if
you think the card will be higher in number, or select LOW if you think it is lower in number. Select Stop to quit and collect
your prize money. You may guess four times, every time you guess right your prize money will be increased in this order:
x1 - x2 - x4 - x8 - x16. If the card has the same number as the one before, it does not matter what you chose. Naturally,
you should not select LOW when you get a 1, or HI when you get a King, as there is nothing lower than 1, and nothing higher
than a King. Your prize money is automatically given if you guess right all four times.
Poker Strategies:
Although one cannot actually win normal money with this game, you can buy items for it, which you can of course sell for
cold hard G at a U.M.N plate. The best place to play is the EVS onboard the Elsa, as it is next to a U.M.N plate. Start
off with a few coins and try your luck at level 1 poker. Never buy the more expensive coin packages as the prizes are
insanely high. When you play Poker, you should always hold on to pairs, it is very tempting to hold on to high cards, but
in the end it will not help you. Holding on to pairs, double pairs and three of a kind will in the end get you more
money than trying to get a Royal Flush. What you need to do is always play double-or-nothing, and you need to do it with
logic, not luck. Luck will not pay you out. For instance, if your first card is a 4, there is a much higher probability
that the next card will be higher than a 4. There is only a 23.7% chance that the next card will be lower, but there is a
69.3% chance it will be a higher card. Of course, this does not work with a 7, because the chances of a lower card are
46% and a higher card is 54%. So the seven becomes a guess. Why are these numbers important? Well, in any game like
this there is always probability laws. Because this game is so biased in your favor, you will have no problem making loads
of money this way. Never accept anything other than a x16 payout, and you can earn up to 100,000 coins for an hour of play!
This is a method that I have proven, in practise, to work. Now when you have enough coins, at least 9900, go to the UMN
plate and sell all your Med Kits, Ether Packs, Cure-Alls and Revives. Now go back to the Casino and get 99 Recovery Sets.
You will get around 10,000 G this way for every 9900 coins that you spend in the Casino. You can do it with Booster Packs
too, but this method makes more money.
Slot Machines
Use the left analog stick or the directional buttons in the Casino Menu to select the Slot Machines, and press circle to
confirm your selection. You will be prompted to select a level on which to play. The level determines the minimum amount
of wager for each slot. The levels are divided like this:
Level 1 - 1 Coins per slot
Level 2 - 5 Coins per slot
Level 3 - 10 Coins per slot
Level 4 - 30 Coins per slot
Make a selection with the left analog stick or the directional buttons up and down, and press circle to start. You will
arrive at the slot machine screen.
How to the Slot Machines
After you selected your level, use the left analog stick or the directional buttons up and down to select a slot, then use
the directional buttons left and right to enter an amount. The total amount of the wager is shown in the top-left of the

buttons left and right to switch between reels, and press the circle button to stop the selected reel. After you get the
score, you can exit with the X button. Score is calculated as follows:
One Joker - 1/2 Pay
Bunny x 3 - Double score
Vector Sign x 3 - Score x 5
Food Plate x 3 - Score x 10 and bonus reel.
Grapes x 3 - Score x 20 and bonus reel.
Apple x 3 - Score x 20 and bonus reel.
7 x 3 - Score x 30 and bonus reel.
When you are done playing in the Casion, press the X button to return to the Main Menu.

Chapter 3: Walkthrough [Top]
3.1 KOS-MOS Simulation [Top]
After all the opening talk, Shion and KOS-MOS will be in a virtual tutorial on battle. Feel free to take the tutorials by talking to KOS-MOS and switching to different subjects. When you’re done, select “Switch to real combat”. You will fight two soldiers and a mecha. Kill the soldiers with your physical (square) attacks, and the mecha with your ether (triangle) attacks. When you’ve finished them off, you will be able to explore the virtual world that Shion created.
Go left and go up the stairs, blast the red canister, then blast the door and kill the soldiers inside. When killing enemies, try to kill them when your battle slot is on the "extra points" slot. This will cut the time you need to earn points for new tech attacks and skills. Open the chest in the room for Med Kit S x 2. Go down the ladder, now go right and down the slope, blast the red car, and go down the slope to the bottom right, you’ll find a treasure chest with Med Kit x 1. Go back down the slope, now lure the mecha to the yellow canister and blast it open so that you’ll have an advantage in battle. I recommend killing every enemy in a screen to make sure you get all your points and items, unless of course you’re near death and have no way of healing yourself. If you want, equip KOS-MOS with the F-MSHOT weapon, this is less powerfull, but can hit all enemies, and is the only weapon for a while that has that ability, this will allow you to finish off many enemies in
the same turn. Kill the enemy to the north and enter the building. Remember if your health is in red numbers, its time to heal. Use Shion’s Medica or an item to restore your health. Go up the stairs and blas the canister to boost yourself for your battle against the soldiers. Go south across the bridge, blast the box that blocks you and exit south. Now go down and blast the other box to find a Revive x 1. Go back up and cross the bridge, now go left and enter the door. Here you will have to fight a boss. During this battle, you will receive a small tutorial on how to equip your A.G.W.S. (Anti Gnosis Weapon System).
BOSS 01: Drone SPX
HP: 280
EXP: 40
T.Pts: 18
E.Pts: 0
S.Pts: 16
Money: 0G
Weakness: Thunder
Item: Med Kit S
Rare Item: None
KOS-MOS should use R-Cannon and her triangle attacks for this one, make sure that if you want to use R-Cannon, you need 6 AP. So you need to either defend, or attack only once so that you can save up your AP. Shion can either be put in her A.G.W.S., or you can use her either attacks. Make sure that you kill him when your battle slot is on Extra points (if you get x10 points here, you can immediately put one of your techs in the fast slots, woohoo). This battle usually lasts only two rounds.
After a cutscene, the enemies are replaced with Gnosis. You can avoid fighting them by sneaking past them while holding the R2 button, or by simply only pushing the analog button slightly when walking. Use the save point and go down to the right and down the ladder. Here, blast open the crates. Some of them have enemies in them, however you can also find an Ether Pack x 1 and a Med Kit S x 2. You should now be able to evolve Shion’s Medica Ether ability into either Analyze or Goodbye. I would pick analyze, because after that you can get Medica All. Check out the red door, which is segment address 10 (this will be important later on). Go back up, go up the ladder and sace again. You can chose to either fight some more enemies to level up before the boss, or you can just take the door on your right. The boss isn’t that hard, but I make it a habit to level up to at least +2 level on every stage, just to make sure that I won’t be surprised by a strong boss. It’s a habit I picked up from Xenogears, in which some of bosses were just insanely tough at times. Now pick up the Mission Key from the table and blast the object that blocks the door. Exit right, go down the stairs and open the door on the ground floor. Here you will have the boss.
BOSS 02: Drone GX
HP: 420
EXP: 100
T.Pts: 24
E.Pts: 12
S.Pts: 8
Money: 0G
Weakness: Slash
Item: Ether Pack S
Rare Item: None
Charge AP for KOS-MOS and have her do her R-Blade attack. If you put Shion in her A.G.W.S, you should use her sword attack. Kill him when you’re on the points bonus slot. After the battle, there’s a couple of scenes, and Shion will be in the lab. Talk to the guy next to the red machine, so that you can go back into the Encephalon. Now go back to the building to get the contents of the red box. You’ll get a Battle Passport, which you can use later on to play an A.G.W.S minigame. You can, of course, train some more if you really want to, but it’s not that important. Also, since you’re alone these time, it’ll be a bit harder to win from here on. Remember, to avoid fighting you can always walk slowly to remain undetected. Also, since it’s just Shion, you’ll get double the points because you don’t have to share them with KOS-MOS.
3.2 The Federation Cruiser Woglinde [Top]
Save your game in the KOS-MOS lab and exit to the right. Go trough the long hallway and take a look at the Woglinde map. Shion will tell you that she needs to take the elevator to the bridge, so you’ll see that you have to go north from her quarters to the fore of the shop and take the elevator right ahead. Go down and exit south, while you walk, you’ll get emails, after which the bunny tells you about emails. You can read several emails that have already been received. When you exit south, there will be a cutscene with Allen. Now exit right to enter the hangar, and those who have played Xenogears will recognize the Zohar machine, and the forefather (?) of Vanderkaum. Talk to the guy next to the east exit and give him your email address, he’ll send you some Namco spam later on, but it will also have benefits later. After the scenes, exit right, go up. There’ll be a scene where Allen gives Shion her research data, and a strange girl appears in a flash. Shion will be paged to help the Realian department. Go down the corridor where the guard is standing, you will see another red door, marked segment 18. Just after the corridor to the right is Shion’s quarters. Go inside and get the data chip from the desk. No exit the room, go south through the corridor and now take a left. Miyuki should send you an email, read it and then go on. Enter the room to the left to find the Realian Maintenance room. Check all the realians in the maintenance beds, then talk to the Lieutenant. A Lieutenant Virgil will barge in and talks crap about the Realians, which is because he’s a soldier from the Miltian conflict. Shion gets pissed off and the Lieutenant leaves. Leave the maintenance lab, then go back in to get a special email. Reply to it and tell them you’ll help them, it’ll earn you a nice money bonus later on in the game. Exit north and talk to the guy next to the crane to play a mini game. Listen to his explanation, then drill away the obstacles. When you’re done
he’ll give you a Drill Passport, if you got all the rubble in one go, you’ll get a Med Kit S, if you needed more than one try, you’ll get a Med Kit. Go north and you’ll get an email about the U.M.N. Gnosis database. You can access this database through the menu screen, and it has all sorts of info on Gnosis that you fought. If you have used Analyze on these Gnosis, you will have more info on them. Exit north again, you can save in the first room to your left, you can’t enter the second room yet, go up a little and enter the lounge to the left. You’ll get another email from Miyuki, and send her back a positive reply so that you can get KOS-MOS’ best weapon later on in the game. Go up the ramp to the north and then exit north, Talk to Sergeant Swaine, he’ll explain about the red doors and give you the Segment File so that you can keep track of where all the doors are. Check the door, which is segment address 7. Go east and you’ll get some spam email from Namco about their game Ninja Assualt. Now go east and take the elevator up to the bridge for a cutscene. When you’re done, go down the elevatar and take the west exit. Miyuki will send you yet another email, download the attachment, it won’t actually do anything till later though. There will be an accouncement as you come down the elevatar about a package from Vector at the hangar. That’s your next destination. For now though, go west like I said and then go north. Talk to the pilots to play tag with them. Run around the block to the north and then just go down. You’ll get a Med Kit for your trouble and you can use this later on against the Gnosis. Now go north and then west to find the A.G.W.S. hangar, you can’t get the treasure box just yet though. Speak to the guy at the desk to claim your package, which is an M.W.S. (the thing you used in battle, remember?) One of the engineers will sell items, but be sure to keep at least 500G in your stock for something later on. Talk
to the guy in the back to fight a simulated battle against a Drone SPX. Don’t use your A.G.W.S. because you can’t repair it yet, just use Shion, after the battle, you will be healed anyways. For those of you who want to use this as a place to earn lotsa T points, here’s a quick thing about this battle:
Shion must have Spell Ray in her fast triangle slot. If your first battle slot is empty do the following:
Shion: attack with triangle, circle. Drone SPX attacks (critical attack slot) Shion attacks triangle, circle (boost up slot) Shion gains 1 boost. Drone SPX attack (bonus points slot), during attack press R1 and boost Shion. Shion turn, defend (empty slot), Shion turn, defend (critical attack slot), Drone SPCX attack (boost up slot), Shion attacks triangle, circle (bonus points slot). Drone SPX is defeated, and you get either x2, x4, or x10 points.
If your first battle slot is high critical attack, do the following:
Shion attacks, triangle, circle (critical attack slot), Drone SPX attack (boost up slot), Shion attacks, triangle, circle (bonus points slot). If you don’t kill it on the second turn, just defend the next turn, and wait for the bonus points slot to appear again.
If your first battle slot is boost up, do the following:
Shion attacks, triangle, circle (boost up slot), Drone SPX attack (bonus points slot), Shion attack, triangle, circle (empty slot), Shion gains 1 boost, Drone SPX attack (high critical slot) press R1 and boost Shion, Shion turn, defend (boost up slot), Shion attack, triangle, circle (bonus points slot).
If your first battle slot is bonus points, do the following:
Shion attacks, triangle, circle (bonus points slot), Drone SPX attack (empty slot), Shion turn, defend if enemy HP is below 120, otherwise, attack with triangle, triangle (high critical slot), Drone SPX attack (boost up slot), Shion attack, triangle, circle (bonus points slot).
Also note that you will get a Med Kit S every time you win, which will greatly come in handy later on in the game. Remember this battle algorythym for later, because we want to get the maximum amount of points in every battle so that we don’t have to spend too much time training our characters.
Exit the hangar, Shion will say she’s tired. Go east and exit through the east door, you will find another red door in this passage, which is segment address 16. Go further south to find people watching a holo-show, the button on the right panel can switch it on and off. Go down and take the left passage around the plants to get an email. You can then chose to invest in one of three companies. You need 500G for this. If you invest, they will send you the following things:
Hasegawa Biochemical: 5x Med Kit S + 10% discount on recovery items
Vector-Tenan Pharmaceuticals: 5x Ether Pack S + 10% discount on recovery items
Dawson Pharmaceuticals: 5x Revive + 10% discount on recovery items
Pick whichever one you like, then go left to find yourself at the elevator room. Now go south untill you reach Shion’s quarters and enter it. You’ll get a few cutscenes, before you sleep, save your game.
When you wake up, the Woglinde is under attack by the Gnosis. Because they are not fully materialized, you can’t fight them yet. Approach the first Gnosis, and Shion will escape from the battle. You will need to avoid fighting untill KOS-MOS can help you.
To get past the Gnosis in the elevator room, you need to go east. The second Gnosis will see you, so run past the partition and press the button on the other side to close it just before he catches up. Continue east and another Gnosis will be there, slip past to the right and activate the holo show that the crew was watching, and you can distract him long enough to run past. Now go to the left and talk to the girl, then make sure the Gnosis sees you and run back to the right. Enter the control room and save (preferably in a different file). Wait in this room untill the Gnosis passes by, then burst out the room and you will see KOS-MOS waking up. She’ll scan the ship for Shion and the Zohar emulator. Now go northwest and exit, there is Gnosis blocking your way, so head up the ladder and open the airlock by pressing the green switch, which will suck out the Gnosis. Go down the ladder and go east, go south and talk to the A.G.W.S. pilot who tells you to get the vaporizer. So go north east and enter the A.G.W.S. hangar, talk to the guy who sold you the items before, and he’ll give you the plug-in. Now you can shoot things just like in the Encephalon simulation. You can buy supplies if you need them. Go to the back of the hangar and blow up the crates to find a Frame Repait A x 2, an Escape Pack, and Fram Repair Z x 2. Go out and lure the Gnosis to the left just a little so that they will blast open that brown crate. Now lure them into the yellow safety fences (reminded me of zapping mosquitos, hehe) now you can safely get the 200G and the Veil x 2. Go east now, and blow up the large crate that blocks your way to the ladder, go up and then blow up the little ones for another 200G and a Revive DX. Go down and now south to blow up the car. Two Gnosis will follow you as soon as they see you. Remember how you won the tag game? Just do the same: go north around the block and then go south again. Make sure that you don’t run too fast, or else one will go left around the block and catch you, if you see that happening (watch your radar) just exit east and come back. Once you ditch them, Shion will go over to Sergeant Swaine, who gives you decoder 7, which you can use to open the red door above you, open the chest for Robot Part Right Arm. You will need this much later on to get your best tech attacks. Exit the room and blow up the center piece of that room for a bio sphere, and the plant in the corner for an Ether Pack. Go through the door to the south where you encounter Lieutenant Virgil again. When the cutscenes are done, search the dead body for the Crewman’s Key, and use it to open the door that you couldn’t open last time. Here you will find a missle pod for your A.G.W.S. called the SMP53AG, save your game at the save point in the other room. Because you face a boss soon, use this opportunity to spend all the T points you earned while fighting the A.G.W.S. simulation. You should put Ligthning Blast and Spell Ray on fast so that you can use them all the time. I suggest upgrading
Lightning Blast to level 4 as well, because you can’t use Spell Ray in the boss battle. Now exit south for all the drama cinematics (how can this not remind you of the Eldricht? Come on, you know that’s what you’re thinking about). Once it’s all over, the boss appears.
BOSS 03: Cyclops
HP: 560
EXP: 560
T.Pts: 30
E.Pts: 16
S.Pts: 24
Money: 800G
Weakness: Thunder
Item: SMG99AG
Rare Item: None
Whatever you do, don’t use Ether attacks. Just use your physical (square) attacks. Use Lightning Blast for Shion and R-Blade for KOS-MOS. It’s not that hard for a battle as long as you keep to your physical attacks.
Because of the Hilbert Effect, you can now fight the Gnosis on equal terms. Equip the VX-10000 with the SMG99AG (instead of the sword), and the SMP53AG on the shoulder. Now that you have two rifles, you can use W-ACT in the A.G.W.S. menu. This costs 6 AP, but it’s very powerful. Now go east, blow up the canisters before you fight the Gnosis, as always. Make sure you get the bonus points from them, because KOS-MOS now has far less points than Shion. Don’t worry about healing Virgil or anything, he’s just there for the moment. Go east and press the red button in the control room to open the partition. You can enter Shion’s room to rest and save. Procede north and blow up the object in the middle for a Bio Sphere. Go north past the fire and exit north. Blow up the center piece to get Revive x 2. Go east and follow the path to the holo show, there, blow up the objects to get a Med Kit S and an Ether Pack S. Now enter the command room again and blow up the glass to get
the Decoder Key 18. That is the key for the red door just outside of Shion’s room. So go back and open that door to find a Coat-Lightning. Equip it on KOS-MOS and save your game in Shion’s room. You should consider spending your T points to upgrade KOS-MOS R-Cannon to high speed, because you’ll need it in the next boss battle. From Shion’s room, go all the way south past the broken A.G.W.S., use the canister to boost yourself when you see the Gnosis coming, after you kill them, destroy the crate on the left for Escape Pack x 2. Keep going south past the crane and the canisters. Blow up the crates on the sides for Revive x 2 and a Revive x 1. Exit east to enter the hangar where the Zohar is. There will be a cutscene and KOS-MOS will kill Sergeant Virgil who is in her line of fire (and for some reason he sees Febronia the realian just before). Next is the boss battle.
BOSS 04: Minotaur + Sky Fish x 2

E.Pts: 30 / 6
S.Pts: 12 / 2

Weakness: Beam / Pierce
Item: Skill Upgrade S / Escape Pack
Rare Item: Skill Upgrade Z
All your enemies are flying, so you can only use the triangle attacks. Take out the two Sky fish first with R-Cannon and Spell Ray. Then put Shion in her A.G.W.S. and let her use W-ACT to finish him off. There’s really nothing to it, just make sure you kill it when you’re on the bonus points slot.
After the battle, there will be a whole series of cut scenes. Shion, Allen and KOS-MOS will end up as passengers on the freighter Elsa with its dinky crew. When the game asks you, save your game. The game will now switch to Ziggurat the cyborg who is sent on a mission to rescue the 100 Series Observation Realian called MOMO, one of the creations of Joachim Mizrahi.
3.3 Asteroid Pleroma [Top]
Go to the back and walk up the ramp, the guards won’t see you because you’re invisible, before going on the ramp, blow up the crates to the right for a Scope and Ether Upgrade S x 2. You will set a bomb there for later and then procede. Firstly, use an Ether Updrade S so that you can get the Recharge ether ability. You can do that or you can rely on the Med Kit S that you stored on the Woglinde. Either way, you can avoid the guards by walking slowly and hiding behind the walls. You can get a lot of experience and points by killing the guards, whether or not you want to fight is up to you. You can also walk up the stairs and see the movement of the guards so that you know how to avoid them. I killed them all for the experience, but its up to you to decide. When you reach the second area, go down and blast the wall for Revive x 2, now go up and blast the wall twice to reveal a hidding passage. Follow it to find a Snake Hunter (which will prevent you from getting poisoned by the
soldiers’ mustard bombs and will give you the edge in battle, so equip it or if you have the skill points, extract and equip the ability instead). Blast the wall and check the red door to find segment address 4. Now go back through the passage you came in. With the Snake Hunter, you can safely kill the guards, who drop Med Kit S anyways, so you can heal yourself after battle while racking in the Tech points, and also some money. Ziggy’s circle attack (at 6 AP) will hit all enemies for about 80 damage, so use it wisely and remember to kill your enemies at the right moment for the bonus points. As you procede through the next area of guards, destroy the statue in the middle to find the Decoder 11 key. Be sure to get the Bodyguard ether skill next, as it will help you when MOMO joins your party soon. Exit east, then cross the bridge of the church area (looks a lot like the church in Nisan, doesn’t it? Notice also that in the picture of the asteroid, it looks exactly like the pendant that
Mother Sophia wears?) Now you need to distract the A.G.W.S. below, so go left and activate the crane, now go down the ladder and to the right to get a cutscene with MOMO. Kill the two guards, go down the stairs to the left, shoot the yellow canister when the guards are close, while they are in statsis, get the treasure to the left for Veil x 2. Now follow the mecha while walking slowly so that you don’t get its attention, and then exit through the bottom right door. Go to the left to find a room with 6 crates, the bottom left one has a mecha in it, so when you shoot the crate, run to the right so that you can shoot the yellow cannister and get the edge in battle. The other crates contain: Ether Pack S, Bio Sphere, 100G, Med Kit S and a Revive. Now heal up and enter the right room, the Master Key is there but also your next boss.
BOSS 05: Gardis M1 + Gardis F10 x 2
HP: 450 / 60
EXP: 350 / 5
T.Pts: 10 / 1
E.Pts: 0 / 0
S.Pts: 8 / 1
Money: 0G
Weakness: Thunder / Thunder
Item: Med Kit S / None
Rare Item: None
You need to use your ether attacks here, especially your Lightning Fist attack. If you want to earn some extra points, keep killing the little Gardis F10, because that one keeps reappearing. Neither of these should be a problem, and if you want, finish them both off with Ziggy’s circle attack (so you will need at least 6 ap before this battle starts). You can get some nice points out of this battle, but if you are hurting for medicine then just finish it off quickly because there is one more boss to go.
When you’re done, open the treasure for the Master Key. Go back to the cell like Ziggy says and open the prison door. Open the other doors as well to get a Speed Stim and a save point. MOMO joins your party. Put MOMO behind ZIggy so that you can use the Bodyguard ether skill in battle. Now, I bet you’re just dying to get rid of the A.G.W.S. that we left behind? After you save, you can try and kill it. Use only physical attacks, and beware not to attack it while it’s guarding. Use MOMO to keep healing Ziggy, and eventually he’ll be destroyed. He has 640 HP, so strengthen yourself with the Bodyguard ether. You can also use MOMO’s Sheep Beam to render him useless. You can’t get back to the door though, so instead go back into the cell area, then exit to the bottom left. Exit to the bottom right then enter the control room where you fought the boss. Press the red button after the cutscene to open the door on the bottom left of the main hall. Go back to the
corridor and exit to the bottom left. Go down the ladder, and there’ll be another cutscene. Now you will need to outrun the laser guards (hmmm, escape from Solaris, anyone?) go around the obstacles and don’t walk on the mud. When you see a door to the north, shoot the red barrel next to it to get the Med Kit, then exit. You’ll be in the church room from before. Open the chest on the far side for an Ether Upgrade Z. Shoot the pedestals left and right of the altar to get Ether Pack x 2 and an Ether Pack S. Go back south to the tunnel and go left. Destroy the barrel for a Revive. Now walk across the pipes slowly so that you don’t fall off. Keep going left and destroy another barrel for an Ether Pack S. Before you head up the ladder, heal your characters because a boss is next. After the cut scene, you’ll have them for dinner.
BOSS 06: Zolfo + Mercurio x 2

Use MOMO’s Sheep Beam to put the Mercurios to sleep. A funny effect will be that Zolfo will shoot them if they remain alseep for too long. Remember not to attack when they defend. Use Ziggy’s Lightning attack to kill them off, and just use MOMO to put them to sleep and heal Ziggy. This battle is pretty easy this way, and once one of the Mercurios is dead, you’ll see that it’s even easier. Just don’t try to use Sheep Beam on Zolfo, because he can counter attack, and he can also target MOMO with his grenade launcher. I was able to get 260 E.Points in this battle when I killed Zolfo with bonus points. Isn’t that a nice treat?
Now blow up the thing behind you to get Bio Sphere x 2, then blow up the crate for Med Kit S x 8. Now exit right to the control room. Make sure you upgrade Ziggy’s Cyber Kick to High Speed. Save and heal. Now exit north and go back to the place where you saw the red door. Open the red door and get the Thief Ring from inside. Of course, you should equip it on Ziggy. Go back to the save point and heal and save again in case you encountered enemies. Now go back out, and be sure to stay away from enemies so that you can do the boss with your full strength. Now go out and sneak back to the docking area where you came in. The last boss of this area is here.
BOSS 07: Margulis
HP: 820
EXP: 2400
T.Pts: 58
E.Pts: 60
S.Pts: 26
Money: 3000G
Weakness: Variable
Item: Purple Ring
Rare Item: Red Ring
This battle is a piece of cake if you did everything I told you. Use Bodyguard to strengthen Ziggy, and leave MOMO just for healing and guarding. Keep using Cyber Kick against Margulis, unless he uses Spirit Rain, just block and heal when he does that. Don’t worry about his Rune Blade attack because MOMO will prevent you from getting knocked back. yhHe should go down in a few turns. Pray that you get the Red Ring, which is a little easier if you equipped the Thief Ring from before. (And man, how much does this battle remind you of Bart & Margy v.s. Ramsus Kahr, scary) After a couple of scenes, you are back at the Elsa, catering food for Commander Cherenkov.
3.4 The Elsa [Top]
Leave the kitchen to get an email about the Enviromental Simulator, now go to the right side of the passenger cabins to get an email about your business investment, download the attachment to get your items. Go back to the kitchen and go through the south door. Talk to the robot to get the Card Passport, which you can use to play the card game at any EVS point. Exit north to enter the Elsa’s main cabin, and enter the crew cabin in front of you. Search the couch in the middle to find the Disarm Key (you’ll need that later on). Exit the crew cabin and go north untill you get to the intersection. The airlock (when docked) is to the left, further north is the bridge, and to the right is a save point and a U.M.N. shop. You can stock up on some extra items or new armor and then save your game. Now go back to the crew cabins and you will see an elevator to the left side, go inside and take it down to B1. You’ll see a cutscene with chaos and Cherenkov. After that, you arrive downstairs. The
cargo here can all be blasted to reveal items. Go up and blast the first crate for an Ether Pack, continue to the right and you will get an email about the hacker you wanted to help catch, you won’t get this unless you emailed them before about helping them. Go right, then go south when you get to the panel, exit the corridor, blast the panels to the left to reveal a passage. Enter it and you’ll find three crates, blast them for 50G and an Ether Upgrade A, now go back out and go down the stairs all the way to the right, at the end of the stairs are two crates, one with 150G and one with 200G, now exit left and talk to chaos. You can save here if you want. Exit south to find the A.G.W.S. hangar. Go down the elevator and talk to the robot to the left. He’ll sell A.G.W.S. parts, so be sure to upgrade Shion’s VX10000 with new armor and generator, get her the SMG32VX x 2 for both arms or the LG24VX x 2, and keep some money in reserve. If you’re low on cash, you can use the
save-point upstairs to simulate the Pleroma mission and kill soldiers for money. Now exit south, go down to the lower floor by using the stairs and open the chest to the south to find a Coat-Beam. Go back to the hangar and now take the left elevator up to find KOS-MOS’ maintenance lab and the Commander. After a cutscene with Ziggy, MOMO and the Federation Council. When you’re back with Shion, exit south, Captn. Matthews will ask you to come to the bridge. Go down the elevator and talk to Tony and tell him you’ll help him find his map. Go up the right elevator and exit north. Exit north this time, shoot the two panel to the left to find a red door, which is segment address nr 8. Operate the panel with the green light to activate the slide deck. Go left on the intersection and down the stairs, blow up the crates for 50G, a Bio Sphere, a Spirit Pendant and open the chest for the Decoder 10 key. Now that you have the Spirit Pendant, you can upgrade your Skill level by extracting all the
skills from the level 1 items, then extract the PATK+2 skill from the Red Ring you stole from Margulis. You can equip that and the skill to get +6 Physical attack for one of your characters! I suggest giving it to KOS-MOS, as she benefits most from it untill you get Jr. Now exit east, go right to find a crate with 200G. Now go up and take a right to find another couple of crates to blast. You’ll find Ether Upgrade A x 5, a Med Kit and a Bio Sphere. Now go all the way east and follow the corridor to the north west. Open the door to get to the Catapult desk, go down the stairs, go into the room and go north to find a lot of crates, starting from the right, you’ll find an Either Upgrade S, 100G, 150G , a Fiber Suit, and a red door, segment address 14. Now exit the room, go all the way east to find another door, enter it and then climb the ladder. Blow up the crates in the corner for Ether Upgrade S x 2 and a Med Kit, go left and blast the big crate for another Med Kit. Exit south, and go back
west to take the elevator upstairs. Now go back to the save point, and you’ll see that it now has an E.V.S. sign, which means you can use the Enviromental Simulator to visit places you have been to. Go to your menu and select U.M.N., then select E.V.S. and enter the KOS-MOS Simulation again. Go up and enter the building, go up the stairs and enter the east door, here, take the ladder down and exit south, blast the boxes to your right and open segment address 10 for Booster Pack x 2. Exit the simulation either through the exit in the room where the red box was, or through the exit in the beginning of the level. If you have less than 2000 G, you should consider going back to Pleroma and kill some soldiers for money. When you’re done with this, make sure you are done shopping and then go to the bridge to talk to the Captain. After the cutscene, talk to the Captain to get the map that Tony needs. Head for the save area to get an investment email. Chose Venture Link (which you need for later on
in the game), which will cost you 1000G. Save and then take the elevator down to B1. Go back to the A.G.W.S. hangar and talk to Tony to get a Med Kit DX. Now go back to the Catapult deck (if you don’t remember, go up the right elevator, then exit north twice, cross the slide deck, follow the east corridor all the way to the north-west). When you’re there, check the machine in the far north. Leave the deck after the cutscene. You’ll get the third email about the hacker, and then the bunny will help Shion locate the hacker, after that you need to reply to his email. The correct location of the hacker is the Cargo Ship. After you reply, go back to the bridge. You can save at one of the save points if you want, since you will be under attack soon. After all the cutscenes, you, KOS-MOS and chaos will look for Ziggy and MOMO. Make sure you have new equipment for everyone (remember the U.M.N. panel near the save point).
3.5 The Attack on the Elsa
Now go down the elevator to B1. All the crates from before have been restocked with fresh items. Go up and blast the panel for an Ether Pack. Go left and Shion will activate the floor defense. Go north, blast the crates for an Ether Pack, Bio Sphere and an Escape Pack, now go down the ladder. Exit the room and you’ll now play as Ziggy and MOMO. You should put MOMO in the front now so she can fight too, remember to upgrade her tech attacks and ether abilities. You can teach her Refine, which is a revive spell, and you can consider turning Floral Tempest to High Speed. Either way, you need to go down and fight the enemies, remember to get the bonus points. Blast the panels again to get: Antidote, Ether Upgrade S, Ether Upgrade A and Skill Upgrade A x 5. The crates at the bottom now have items, blast them to get an Antidote and an Ether Upgrade S. Exit the Catapult Deck and walk to the right to join up with the others. Chose your team, you can pick who you want, but for the Boss fight I would take Shion and chaos (because of their A.G.W.S.) and KOS-MOS because of her high ether attack. Go down a little and then go to the left where the crates are, shoot them to find a Skill Upgrade S, Frame Repair A and an Antidote. Go on the slide deck and blast the crate to the right for a Biosphere. Go left and down the stairs, blow up the crates for a Frame Repair A, Med Kit S, Ether Pack, and an Antidote. Exit back to the slide deck, go south and exit into the room with a save point. Exit right, you will be slow here, but the enemies are static so they can’t pursue. Blast the first crates for an Escape Pack and Skill Upgrade A x 2. Go up the stairs, shoot the crate for a Med Kit S, go all the way left to shoot the panels for an Escape Pack, go into the secret passage for more crates, which contain an Ether Upgrade S and another Escape Pack. Now go back to the save room and save because the next boss can be pretty tough. Exit south, take the elevator down and exit at the far south. Go down the slope
to get to the mother ship.

This boss will first analyze the event slot, when he picks a slot, he will use Tremor P, a very powerful attack whenever he lands on that slot for this turn. If it lands on Critical Attack, then it’s best to start again by loading your save game. After he does that, board you A.G.W.S., make sure you have 6 AP for the W-ACT attacks, and have KOS-MOS attack with R-Cannon. He will start healing himself if you take too long, but if he heals himself three times it will cause a self-destruct, which doesn’t do more than 100 damage. You can try using boost to prevent him from using his Tremor P attack, and as always, try to get him on the bonus points slot. This boss can be hell without W-ACT for both A.G.W.S., so make sure you did what I told you to do!
After the battle there’s a lot of talking, you now have to give MOMO and Ziggy a tour of the ship. Go to the kitchen, then the passenger cabin (don’t sleep here), go to the other cabin, then the bridge, then go down the elevator to B1. Now go to the save room (outside the A.G.W.S. hangar). When you walk into the top right corner of the room you’ll get an email about your investment. If you invested in Venture Link you will get 4000G and 10% discount on A.G.W.S. weapons. Go down into the A.G.W.S. hangar and check the crates to the left of Shion’s A.G.W.S. for Ether Upgrade A x 5. Now check KOS-MOS’s room, the dock room (where you fought the boss) and the Catapult Room. For the last one, walk to the terminal all the way in the north for yet another investment email. Invest in Vector for future rewards. Now go back to the cabin and sleep. When you are asked, save your game.
3.6 U-TIC Battleship [Top]
You will end up in a fight with Jr. and a few DOMOs. Just blast them away, they’re nothing. After another cutscene, your party will board the U-TIC Mothership. Save your game in the Durandal’s dock, then go down the hatch to the right. You can’t extract skills, upgrade tech attacks or ehter abilities in this level. However, you can earn the points for Jr, so try to get your enemies in the bonus point slot when you kill them. Exit south and continue along the corridor, past the dead body, and exit to the right. Blow up the tanks for an Antidote, Med Kit S, Tech Upgrade A x 2 and Ether Upgrade A x 2. Continue going right and you’ll see a security barrier, don’t cross it, instead go back a little then go up and blast the power generator in the little cubicle, this will disable it so you can safely cross. After you cross, you can shoot the panel above the door if you want to fight a couple of soldiers, if not then just don’t shoot it. the lower panel gives you Skill Up grade A x 2. Just left of the closed door to the north is another power generator, shoot it to disable another security field. Go back to the left side of the room, go up and then cross the now defect security field and press the red switch on the panel. Go south and and follow the corridor all the way, you’ll be ambushed by some soldiers, continue south and then go left, you’ll find a door in the right wall, here, press the switch. Exit the room and go down, then continue west and you’ll see another door on the north side of the wall, enter it and shoot the crate for Frame Repair A x 2. Exit the room and follow, the corridor all the way north and enter the door with the number 4, which is now open. Go down at the next intersection and shoot the closets for a Cure-All and a Bio Sphere, talk to your men if you want, and go through the door on the left to find a save point. Exit and now take the right door next to your men, shoot the plants for Skill Upgrade A x 2 and Tech Upgrade A x 2. Go right and you’ll see secured doors, go a little further and then blow up the electricity panel to disable the lock. The first door only has some men in it, so take the second door to be ambushed by a soldier. When you kill him, he’ll enter his A.G.W.S., if you kill him quickly, you’ll get a Frame Repair Z, woohoo. When you’re done, shoot the panel in the top-right corner of the screen, you’ll find Skill Upgrade A x 2 and segment address 11, which you have the key for, so open it, inside is a chest with the Coat-Ice item. Exit the room and go south, ignore the door and blow up the panel for Ether Upgrade A x 5. Continue south, then west, you’ll be ambushed again, but exit through the left door. Now enter the door to the left and press the switch to open door nr 5. Further down in the A.G.W.S. hangar. Shoot the panel to the right for a Cure-All, then go all the way left and down the stairs. Go down the first path and shoot the panel for a Frame Repair A, go back up
and go right, after you cross under the bridge, go down and shoot the panel for Skill Upgrade A x 2. Go up and then enter the next runway for an Ether Upgrade S, now open the chest to the north for a Tech Upgrade Z. Now go alll the way back up and go south across the bridge, you’ll find two friendly soldiers waiting to greet you at the door, so kill them and enter the door to the right. Blow up the crate to reveal a chest with the U-TIC Card key in it. Now go back north past the A.G.W.S. hangar and exit right, go all the way right and now open the door that we ignored earlier. Open the chest for the Decoder 16 Key. (You cannot get this in the E.V.S. because the card only works in the real thing, so get it now because you won’t be able to come back here). Now go back to the area south of the A.G.W.S. and enter the south most door, you will find a Card No 3 keycard on the briefcase. Now go all the way north to the room where your soldiers are, and save in the room to the left. Now open door nr 3 with the keycard (in the control room) and then enter to find the bridge. Examine the terminal to start the boss battle.

This boss is pretty easy with 3 A.G.W.S., but you should consider letting Mary and the soldier die in this battle so that you can get a lot of points for Jr. If you don’t want to do that, just kill him with the W-ACT after defending with all three A.G.W.S. There’s a low chance that you can get the B-MAX Circuit, so you may have to try a few times. After a few cutscenes, you are back at the Elsa.
3.7 The Dock Colony [Top]
Exit the bridge and you’ll get an email about KOS-MOS’ R-Drill attack (yay!) so you should equip it when you have the chance. Go to B1 and go to the room with the save point to find Ziggy, ask him to help you and he’ll come with you. Go back to 1F and go to the E.V.S. save point. Activate the E.V.S. through your U.M.N. control panel and enter the Woglinde to get the treasure from segment address 16. Go all the way north untill you arrive in the elevator room, go right and follow the corridor to the command center, the segment address is to your left, open the door to find a chest with a Stim DX. Now go back to where you started and exit the E.V.S. Since the dock colony has a very good shop, espcially for your A.G.W.S., you might want to stock up on money by replaying the Pleroma level. Remember that Cyber Crabs drop Scrap Iron, which you can sell as barter item for 100 a piece. I had over 70 of them, so that.s 7000 cash when you sell it. Not bad eh? When you have enough money (say,
around 13000-15000,) go to the Dock Colony through the airlock to the left of the save point. (Note: check out the first part of the Luty side-quest because you can do it now). Head for the shop, you should buy these things: Navy Gloves; Metal Rod; MSP89SX; Stylish Armor x 3; D Unit V3; VOLG20; Power Brace; Guard Pendant. This will cost exactly 4490 G. Now for your A.G.W.S., you should chose some new weapons, I usually get the FLame Launcers (FLM64AG) for Shion together with the BMP45VX Beam Pod. For chaos I would get either two axes (AXE11AG) or the shield beam rifle, but that doesn’t support W-ACT. Now get new frames and generators for both A.G.W.S. and you should now be broke, hehe. If you don’t have enough, sell some of your old equipment. When you’re done shopping, go down the stairs to the bottom left of the store. Shoot all the crap here to find segment address no. 2. Talk to the boy upstairs about a pink thing, then leave the store. Now continue south to see a cutscene with
Cherenkov, then continue west to run into Hammer and some more cutscenes. When that’s done you’ll be back at the Elsa. As you try to leave the room, you will get an email about the U-TIC Battleship being added to the E.V.S. (you can now do the Ace Pilot sidequest). As you approach the elevator to 1F, you will get an email (if you did the right investments like I told you) about KOS-MOS’ F-BSHOT weapon. You can equip it in the character screen. Before you go see the Captain, there’s a few things you need to consider because you will be heading to a very large level after this. First of all, you need healing items. Make sure you have enough of them, the soldiers on Pleroma drop Med Kits and Med Kit S’ all the time, so you can stock up by killing them, which will also get you extra money for the trip. Consider training your characters to level 15 so that they all have their third tech attacks, and make sure that when you train, you get the extra bonus points. You should consider doing the Ace Pilot battle a few times for points, and also the Gnosis on the Woglinde are the best for Ether Points (the soldiers on Pleroma and the U-TIC ship don’t give much points). Lastly, make sure you transfer some healing spells to KOS-MOS in particular, consider transferring Medical All, or MOMO’s Life Shot (which is medium healing for only 2 AP). When you think you’re alright, head for the bridge and talk to the Captain.
3.8 The Gnosis Cathedral Ship [Top]
Prepare for a long journey through this huge monster of a level. To you left is a save point, use it. Extract the Rare +10 ability from the Thief Ring, and then equip it on your lead character, which will help you get all the rare items from this level. Head north and shoot the objects for an Antidote and Nightwalker helmet. Extract the Sleep Guard Skill from it. Follow the path all the way to the top-left corner and blast the right pillar for a Bio Sphere. Exit north-east. Simply follow this path, and there will be more cutscenes. Now go up and blow up the crates for a Neuro Stim. Go down and take the other path and keep going right. The Gnosis fairies will cast sleep on you, so the Nightwalker helmet and the Sleep Guard skill will be good here. KOS-MOS’ R-Cannon is great against these enemies. Go north at the next intersection, blow a hole through the billboard and get the Coat-Fire from the chest. Go all the way south and follow the road towards the exit. In the next area, go around the south of the building and blow up the crates, then blow up the door on the west side and go inside to climb the ladder to the roof. Go to the other side and destroy the crates to find a Revive and a Cure-All. Go to the top right corner of the roof and blow up the panel to reveal a chest with a Revive DX. Now go back to the other side and down the ladder, now go around the north side and follow the road to the south, step on the elevator and take it down, go south a bit then exit right. In the next screen, just follow the path, after the first Gnosis, go up the stairs and make sure that MOMO is your party leader, then investigate the blinking in the panel to find a special armor for the 100 Series Observational Realian. This gives MOMO a unique ability called Star Wind, and a tech attacked called Magic Caster, the latter of which can be used to steal rare items from enemies. You will see that this is a very good skill. Now blow up the crate to the right to make the bridge fall down. Go back down and cross the
bridge. Here you will find a mini Boss.

EXP: 800
T.Pts: 16
E.Pts: 30
S.Pts: 6

Weakness: Ice
Item: Tech Upgrade S
Rare Item: Tech Upgrade Z
If you have chaos in your party, use the Ice Wing spell. Let KOS-MOS use her R-Blade attack or her R-Drill, because they do good damage. In the meantime, let MOMO cast Star Wind to transform, and use her Magic Caster ability to steal the Tech Upgrade Z. If you have Magic Caster in the fast slot, you might as well use it to steal Tech Upgrade S as well. After that, use her to heal your other party members. This boss should not give you much trouble, just be sure not to use any fire based attacks, as that will heal him.
After the battle, pick up the Tuned Circuit from the chest. Go back left over the bridge, and go all the way left and down the stairs. Go down the path past the Gnosis and continue west. Go up the two stairs and then blow up the three pillars that block your way up. You’ll find an Ether Pack S and a Med Kit S. Now keep going right and follow the ramp all the way down. You will find a save point and a U.M.N. shop here. The shop is useless because you don’t earn money by killing Gnosis, and you are likely to be broke because we just shopped at the Dock Colony. And by now you should have assembled around 90 Med Kit S and 60 Ether Pack S anyways, so you’re fine. After you heal yourself, enter the shopping mall ahead.
Just follow the path and you'll see two crates, blast them for a Frame Repair A and Skill Upgrade A x 2. Attack the Gnosis who is waiting for you on the stairs to get into another mini boss fight.

It’s the same drill as before. Use MOMO to get his items, then use KOS-MOS’ R-Drill and chaos’ Angel Wings to kill him. If you have Shion, let her use her physical attacks only. For Ziggy, have him use his Cyber Kick attack. Not too much trouble as long as you keep healing with MOMO.
When you’re done, go up the stairs and enter the store called COSTMARY, defeat the 5 Hydra Gnosis that are in the shop to get the Decoder 15 Key. After that, search the desk in the back of the store in order to find the Flower Seed, you need to give this to Luty for the sidequest. Leave the store and go through the door to the right. Go all the way around the room and exit south. Now take the elevator down and enter the room north. Boxes are keeping these Gnosis trapped, so to get the items you need to kill them. The Unicorn Gnosis are pretty good, so they will help you get some more experience. From the crates, you can find, starting from the door: Tech Upgrade A x 2, Skill Upgrade A, Bio Sphere, Cure-All, Skull Upgrade A x 5, 500G, Med Kit DX, 100G, Skill Upgrade A x 2, Ether Upgrade A x 2, Segment Address 13, Ether Pack S, 200G, Cure-All and a Med Kit Max. Exit the room, go up the elevator and exit south. Once outside, follow the path down, there is a crate after the Gnosis with a Revive in
it, a little further left is a crate with a Clock Shield. When you arrive at the intersection, go left first to find the last mini-boss.

You know the drill by now, this time use Fire based attacked like Thermal Blast and Cyber Kick, R-Drill works pretty nice too. Use MOMO to steal his items and kill it on the bonus points slot for some extra points.
After defeating him, open the chest for the Decoder 9 Key. Go back to the intersection and go north. To left is a door, blow it up to reveal a chest with a Rejuvenator in it. Go right and blow up the rocks for a Cure-All and 500G. Now go north for two more cutscenes. Extract the Poison Guard ability for your three teammates (or equip the item) and enter the central building. The Lizardmen do a poison attack, so you will do well to be protected against it. Go up and blast the plants for a Revive, then go to the top-left corner to blow up the table for a Frame Repair A, behind the Gnosis is a thing you can shoot to reveal a chest with an Ether Pack MAX. Exit north. Here you will find a savepoint, so use it and heal your party. Now blow up the two generators on both sides of the elevator and exit north through the door. You will find an office space with a few enemies and some cannisters. I suggest just killing them all for experience. The left plant at the north wall
contains a Frame Repair Z, and the cubicle in the bottom right has a Magical Hat. Now go up the stairs on the righht side, go through the door and blow up the generator, and then press the red button to reveal a ladder. Go back down and then take the left stairs up. Blow up the other generator then climb the ladder and destroy the next two generators. Destroy the panel on the right to find Segment Address 9, for which you should have the key, go in and pick up the Robot Part Left Arm. Now you have to go allll the way down again to where the elevator is. You should now consider training your characters for the upcoming boss fight, which will be tough than any boss-fight from before. Make sure everyone has the PDEF Guard Skill set (Extract from the Guard Pendant). Also make sure everyone has a good heal spell, and have two people with Medica All. I would suggest taking Shion, KOS-MOS and MOMO for the battle, as MOMO can steal the Bosses’ items and by now she should have awesome healing abilities. The difficulty of the next battle depends on how much you trained your people. I had all three of my party members on level 19 because I love the experience and tech points you can earn here, but I’m sure you can do it with a lesser level too. If you need to level up, make sure you get your enemies in the bonus points slot, this is important because it will take less time to get the points you want this way. If you need Tech Pts, kill Lizards or Ogres, if you need Ether Pts, go for the Hydras. The latter of which are very easy to kill because their attacks suck and they usually defend anyways. If you want to spend T.Pts on character building, consider using it for HP, Eatk and Edef. When you are ready, take the elevator down. You will be in a circular area. The enemies here are great for T.Pts, let the Unicorns revive the Lizardmen so that you can keep killing them for points in the bonus points slot, a Unicorn can only revive 3 times though, so don’t overdo it. One battle can get you over 200
T.pts (if you are lucky and hit the 10x bonus points twice). Go to the left side of the circle and blow up the barrier, then blow up the can for a Veil. Go all the way down, asnd before you use the elevator, un-set the Poison Guard skill and insert something more usefull like EDEF+2. Now use the elevator in the middle. Now go up, press the button. and enter the door for your boss.

Weakness: Lightning / Lightning
Item: Silver Crown / Frame Repair A
Rare Item: Commander’s Crest / Frame Repair Z
This boss will cast Hell’s Flash as long as he has the Odogogues with him, so they are your first target for today. Transform MOMO and steal the Frame Repair Zs from them. Try to kill them in the bonus slot, if you can. Make sure you heal often! Use KOS-MOS’ R-Drill or R-Blade for good damage, and also use Shion’s Lightning Blast. When they die, the Gargoyle gets stronger, so the Hell’s Flare also gets stronger. He will also cast Lost on your men and use Hell’s Lance for massive attack. Put Shion and MOMO in their A.G.W.S. and use W-ACT for some good damage. If you have the Axes, you can do around 1000 damage per turn! If you have the Thief’s Ring and the Rare +10 skill you should get the Commander’s Crest accessory.
I didn’t have any problem with this boss because I had everyone’s Edef maxed out (weee!) which is very possible even with only an hour or two of character training. Hell’s Flash didn’t do more than 60 damage to my party, the only good attack was Obsidian Claw, which could go for 400 damage on the critical attack slot. I only used MOMO’s A.G.W.S. for this battle. I also got about 250 T,pts from this battle without trouble. I used MOMO to get the Commander’s Crest, as you usually get the Frame Repair Zs from the little ones when you have the Thief Ring with the ability.
After the battle, there’s a lot of cutscenes, after which you are given the option to save, do so and after that you arrive on the Durandal.
3.9 The Durandal [Top]
After more cutscenes, you gain control over Shion. Head for the exit, you’ll get an email about the Cathedral Ship being added to the E.V.S. You will arrive at the station where you will get an email about your last investment. If you chose Vector, you will get a Code Disarm Key Plug-in, and a 10% discount on A.G.W.S. accessories, download the plug-in. Enter the train and go to the Residential Area.
Go west up ramp and enter the new area. The room to the left of the policman can be used to rest in. Go north instead and blow up the wall panels for Booster Pack x 2. Go right and enter the door to the north, This is the game (read: gambling) room of the Durandal. On the right side of the room is a chest with the Casino Passport. Right now you are probably broke, but you need 6000G for the next investment. So use the EVS savepoint to go back to the U-TIC Battleship to get some money. The funny thing is that here, neither Shion nor KOS-MOS took any damage from the enemies even when they had critical hit. That shows you how good your characters are by now. When you get your money, it is time to leave the room. Now go left and enter a new area, keep going left and enter the bedroom. Destroy the closets for Ether Upgrade A x2 and a Med Kit S. Leave the room, go back to the main corridor and go north, destroy the wall panels for a Med Kit DX. Go into the nothern room and blast the closets for another Med Kit DX. There is also a U.M.N. shop here, but do not buy anything because you need the money. Sell your barter items though. Now leave the room and go left. Blow up the panels to find Ether Upgrade A x 2 and an Ether Pack S. Go back to the train and go to the Hangar. Go right and through the door for your next investment email. If you do not have the F-BSHOT weapon for KOS-MOS yet, you need to pick Alkimia. If you have it, pick Shijima. Go back to the train and go to the Park. Go up the escalator and enter the park for a cutscene. Afterwards, leave the park and you will get another
email about the investment you just made. If you chose Alkimia, you will get the F-BSHOT and 24000G, if you picked Shijima, you will get 72,000G. On your way to the train you will get another email about the hacker, You will get the Code Disarm Support Plug-in, make sure to download it. Go back to the Residential Area, once you arrive, you get another Namco Spam mail. Go up the ramp and go into the bedroom to the left. Go ahead and rest for some cutscenes. After that, exit the bridge and go to the train. If you do not have the F-BSHOT weapon, you will get it in an email now. Take the train to the Dock Area. Go up the shuttle pad and talk to Jr, then head into the shuttle.

After more cutscenes you are on the beach. You will get an email from the clone sister of the hacker you helped capture. Answer her quiz with Durandal as the answer. Go to the right side of the beach house and |
