Introduction:
People cannot gain anything without sacrificing something. You must present something of equal value to gain something.
That is the principle of equivalent trade in alchemy. We believed that was the truth of the world when we were young.
The world of two young boys drastically changes with the death of their mother and
the dissappearance of their father. As the sons of a talented State Alchemist, the boys turned to
their father’s craft in order to bring their mother back. However, alchemy must abide by the
laws of nature, and human alchemy was strictly prohibited. Without proper guidance, the two ventured
into a dangerous place between life and death, and in their attempt to recreate their mother, they
lost parts of their own life forever.
With alchemy as their religion, the two Elric brothers left their home and went out
to explore the world. Not knowing what they will find, or what their lives will bring them, they keep
walking no matter what horrors they will find along their path.
Full Metal Alchemist is quickly becoming one of the most popular new anime series,
and is available on cable TV in Japan. Fullmetal Alchemist airs every week on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim
in the United States.
